Mosque Montazerane Zohur (GMZ) is located in the canton of Solothurn, mostly comprised of members from the Muslim community of Switzerland. Established in 2018 with the help and support of Muslim brothers and sisters residing in Switzerland, this mosque serves as a spiritual gathering place where regular religious-cultural ceremonies and prayers are held, particularly focusing on the rituals of the Ahl al-Bayt (AS). It not only serves as a sanctuary but also as a vibrant community celebrating diversity and solidarity. The name "Awaiters of the Appearance" symbolizes hope for the emergence of Imam Mahdi (AS), resonating throughout the mosque, inspiring an environment for believers to share their spiritual journey. In addition to religious occasions such as Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha, and Ghadir, we also organize cultural events like Yalda Night and Nowruz (Persian New Year), which hold a special place in our culture. This mosque also serves as a center for prayer, worship, and educational activities, offering language reinforcement classes (Persian/Dari) and Quran classes for children and teenagers. We maintain friendly relations with the canton of Solothurn and serve as a bridge between the community and the canton for service. GMZ has previously organized sessions with the police to promote better understanding and adherence to Swiss laws. We are members of the Islamic Association of the Canton of Solothurn and the interfaith working group, aiming to promote peaceful coexistence with the Swiss and global community to create a better life for all.
